5 Ways to Celebrate Spring….Even Though It’s Still Winter

February 25th, 2015

Celebrate Spring

Winter is still here and some areas of the United States and Canada are getting much more snow than usual. We know you are probably saying “When is Spring finally going to arrive?” While we can’t help bring Spring, we can give you some ideas to make your life feel a bit more Springy . . . even if there is snow on the ground outside.

To Watch:

Angels in the Attic Sunflower Contest

Nothing says Spring like flowers. Watch Season 1 Episode 1 of Angels from the Attic when they have a Sunflower Contest – Looner Bunny and Sunray Bear judge the Angels from the Attic “Sunflower Growing Contest”. Who has the most creative sunflower? Or will the littlest Angel show them all how it is done?

To Make:

Spring Window Cling

Make a garden of Spring flowers for your windows using materials that you have at home. You’ll almost forget that there won’t be real flowers for at least a few more months.

To Bake:

easter-cupcakes

While these adorable cupcakes from Deliciously Home are officially Easter cupcakes, we think the cute birds nests bring a bit of Spring to your dessert. We also love that they are super easy. Just use your favorite cupcake and frosting recipe (or store bought . . . we won’t tell).

To Share:

lemon-curd

Lemon curd from Home to Heather is like sunshine in a jar. Make a few batches to put in little jars and hand out to your neighbors. It will spread a little Spring cheer to everyone you give it to. It is delicious on top of ice cream, swirled into plain yogurt or as part of a parfait. Yum!

To Draw:

Learn to Draw Mini

Draw your very own Spring Chicken with Øistein! Check out Season 1, Episode 3 of Learn to Draw Minis to learn to draw a chicken. Want to draw other fun animals? Check out all one hundred and four minis!

We hope our ideas bring a little Springtime fun to you even if you are getting snow and cold temperatures this week. Remember, Spring will be here soon!
